Save The LaSalle Theatre Strategic Plan

Vision

Our not-for-profit organization will fully restore the LaSalle Theatre to operate as an Historic Cultural Centre for the benefit of public use in Kirkland Lake.

Mission

Our charitable organization will restore, maintain, and operate the LaSalle Theatre as a fully accessible key venue for a mixed program of community events focusing on youth and family involvement, performances by LaSalle Theatrical Productions, touring productions, and regular showings of classic and second-run films.

Commitments

  1. Complete an organizational guide including defining roles and responsibilities for Save The LaSalle Committee members, Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Sub Committees.

Target: Complete an organizational guide by November 30th 2019  January 30, 2020

Measure: Organizational guide is approved

a) Amend and adapt bylaws, develop policies, and articulate or adapt 

procedure guidelines and organizational chart — tentative deadline: November 

17th, 2019 (AGM)

  1. Complete a feasibility plan including engineering assessment on building restoration needs.

Target: Receive a full feasibility study including engineering assessment on the LaSalle building by June 2020

Measure: Plan received on time and within budget

a) Request for Proposals: tentative goal date for draft provided to Janis Barlow 

is November 15th

  1. Continue fundraising toward the goal of completing restoration for full reopening of the theatre for films and live performances on the stage

Target: Raise ??? in funds during 2020

Measure: Fundraising meets identified milestones throughout the year

a) Lay out and articulate regular monthly budget needs based on financial 

statements (tentative deadline: November 17th for AGM)

b) Incorporate costs of feasibility study, including and excluding potential and 

actual grants (tentative deadline: November 17th  March 2020 follow-up AGM)

c) Work with Feasibility Planning Committee to determine fundraising amount 

and grant application targets and milestone dates for 2020 (tentative 

deadline: November 30th March 2020)

  1. Approve a Strategic Plan for the Save The LaSalle Committee.

Target: Develop a draft 3 year Strategic Plan by November 30th 2019

Measure: A 3 year Strategic Plan is approved by the Committee by January 30 2020

4.2.1 BOD will receive regular / monthly progress reports from contractors

4.2.2 November 1 – December 20, 2020 (tentative) promotion and rehearsal of 

LaSalle Theatrical Productions’ annual Scrooge performance

4.2.3 November 1 – December 30, 2020 — LaSalle Theatrical and Fundraising 

Committees plan promotion and implementation of at least one community 

activity / event per month in a mixed program beginning January 2021, taking 

into consideration alternative locations depending on renovation / construction 

schedules

4.2.4 Finalize fundraising calendar for 2021 by December 15, 2020

4.2.5 Develop 10 minute progress report presentation to Town

4.3.3 October 1 – November 30, 2021 — LaSalle Theatrical and Fundraising

2022, taking into consideration alternative locations depending on renovation / 

construction schedules
